Interview with Ali!! ♥

#1 About Me: I am a 13 year old girl named Ali, daughter of Jesus Christ my King. I love Him, and praise Him for dying on the cross for me and rising again on the third day. #2 My blog is about me and my crazy hectic life, but living for Jesus through it all! I post lots of pictures, and I share about my personal life. I blog because it's fun, and I love to interact with people and get to know new people! 

#3 I have loved photography since..well, this year! I got my first very own point and shoot on my 13th birthday, and I've taken pictures of new things ever since! 

#4 I use a point and shoot, and it is a Fujifilm. I got it on my thirteenth birthday from my family! :)

#5 Life inspires me to take pictures because if I see something that needs to be photographed in life, I take it! Life is full of adventures, and fun! But there are also sad, and hard times. But, when you snap those fun, happy pictures, you will remember those moments the most! :)

#6 My favorite photo I've taken in the last month probably has to be the picture I took of my friend. I love how she is standing, and how she has her arms. And I love the edit I did on it too! :) 

#7 This is always a hard one, but I love taking pictures of friends and family. I love to capture the beautiful and fun moments with the ones I love! Although, It is sometimes hard to get my brothers to cooperate..but when I can I love to!

Hello Everyone! My name is Kiley and I blog over at Click and Capture Photography. I am a teenage girl who has a huge heart for Jesus. I love photography, and anything that uses my creative side. My family are my best friends, and my friends are my family. I love to giggle and stay up all night laughing with my friends, watch movies, blog, and well, i'm sure you know. photograph.

First off-I'd like to say this is my first time guest posting, so if it's horrible, that is why. ;)

I first got into photography when I was 8 years old, my parents bought my a purple camera, that plugged into the computer so I could play around with frames and making the photos silly.
When I lost that camera I was super sad, and for that Christmas I got a pink kodak camera. Um, I don't think you want to know what happened to it. The first one fell, the second one broke, and the third one, well um, it fell again. They were all replaced for free. My advice to you-buy the warranty they are trying to sell you, it is SO worth it.

Thennn, last year I bought a sony point and shoot. I am happy to report that I still have that camera, and use it lots still.

In September of 2010, I bought my first SLR, a canon rebel XSi. (That didn't break either. ;))

In April, I decided I liked the SLR for sure and I went ahead and updated to a Nikon D3100.
I. Still. Have. That. Camera.

and I couldn't be happier.

But guys, the fact that I have an SLR, is besides the point. Now, hear me out. You don't need an SLR to be awesome at taking pictures. Allie once told me that its the person that takes the pictures, not the camera (or something along the lines of that.) It was then, that I realized that I didn't need an SLR. Don't be discouraged if you don't have one.

Photography is a very creative thing. When I take pictures, I don't just point and shoot, I turn up/down the aperture  exposure, make sure the photo is in focus, and all of that. It's a fun process.

Learn how to be creative with your shots. Take photos from different angles, don't just "point and shoot" but play around a bit. Take classes, research your cameras, you know.

I leave you with this, I made it. Don't be discouaged when you look at big photographers that are amazing and feel like its impossible for you to get those shots. Nothing is impossible. Say to yourself I'm possible, and you are. ♥

Interview with Emily! :)

#1 name about you, and Blog name

Hi! My name is Emily, I'm 15 years old, and I live in beautiful Virginia! I love my family, friends, swimming, blogging, Jesus, and photography! I blog over at Flip Flops and Polka Dots. I've got a spoiled {not to mention stubborn} little Morkie {mix between a Maltese and a Yorkie} puppy whose name is Oliver, and I love him to death! Read my blog to see more about me!

#2 What is your blog about, and why do you blog?
My blog started out as almost, well, a joke! I never thought I'd keep up with it :) I began blogging in July, 2008, and was hooked! My blog name used to be 'A Roller Coaster Ride', and then changed to 'Emily Joy Photography', which then changed to 'Flip Flops and Polka Dots', which is the current name :) I've gone through 3 different domains, and have now settled on www.emilysacra.com.

3#How long have you been interested in photography?
I first began to show an interest in photography the end of Winter/beginning of Spring of 2009. I was using an OLD camera {a FujiFilm FinePix}, and was very frustrated at what I could accomplish {or lack of it!}, and it finally died May of 2009. After a few days of being without my camera, I started using our video camera, which doubled as a 'camera'... I thought I was really something with that camera! Haha! I knew then that I 

was destined to be a photographer :) I finally realized my limitations with the video camera, and became super frustrated with it! I borrowed my sisters Sony Cybershot camera for an evening, and just ended up keeping it after that :) Finally happy that I had a 'real camera', I set off to do my 'professional photographer thing' ;) Even that camera had it's limitations, and I once again became frustrated. I talked about it with my parents, and knowing that photography is REALLY what I wanted to do in my life, I got my                            beloved Canon 30D in June, 2010. 

#4What kind of camera do you use, and where did you get it? 

Gidget {My Canon 30D} and I have been inseparable ever since the wonderful UPS man dropped her off that blessed June day! I bought her fromAdorama, a place I would recommend to ANYONE! They had very fast shipping, and the prices are fantastic!!! 

#5  What Inspires you to take photos?

I always felt like there was something more... Like I could be doing better! But I was doing the best I could with the cameras I had at the time. Every photo I see that I love inspires me! I always feel like I can improve.

#6 What is your favorite picture you have taken in the last month?  

Probably this one of my sister! Not only is she absolutely beautiful on the outside, but she's beautiful on the inside too! I also love that I have willing models at my disposal :) 

#7 What is your favorite thing to take pictures of, and why?
Portraits portraits portraits!!! I know some people are content to take pictures of flowers and landscapes, but I loooove to shoot faces! :D I adore weddings, seniors, and engagements! Children are OK, but I much prefer photographing models that will take some instructions :) My sister is a fabulous model, and she will often take me to different places for photo-shoots!

#8 My Equipment
Of course, I have my Canon 30D, and then two lenses! My first lens was Louise - my 75-300mm zoom lens! She is absolutely fabulous, and a great starter lens! I bought Sophie - a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens - in July, just before we went on vacation! She stayed on my camera 3/4 of the time, and is my favorite lens. I would recommend this lens to anyone starting out! It is an incredible lens :)

We were butchering chickens this morning and i went to go see the neighbor, and there was a turtle on the lawn, so i took it home, but i think My dad wants to take it back... :( so here i am blogging about it! haha

Fabulous Friday | pets finalists!!!

Hey ya'll, Sorry this is soooo late!!I guess i just didn't feel like posting this! haha Ive been quite busy, and haven't had to much computer time lately because some of you know that My grandma Recently died, and were all planning her funeral.. so, yeah, that pretty much explains it! i might not be doing the photo contest every week, I might be once a month, or maybe twice, i haven't decided. What should i do? Because i want to get atleast maybe 15 people to link up, and lately its been in the 7's and 6's and once there was a 10! ha-ha. Would you still link up if it was only once a month?
